ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to replace aging storm drainage infrastructure between 11821 and 11825 Triadelphia Road in Ellicott City, is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, June 22nd. The project includes replacing an 18-inch corrugated metal pipe with a reinforced 18-inch concrete pipe, stabilizing the storm drain outfalls, and relocating a nearby utility pole impacted by erosion. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by mid-August 2026.

Signs will be posted to alert motorists and residents of the work, as Triadelphia Road will be closed to through traffic during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Motorists will follow a clearly marked detour using Triadelphia Road to MD 144 to MD 32 to Rosemary Lane to Triadelphia Road.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
