Howard County Executive Calvin Ball Announces $5.8 Million in Federal Funds for Major Affordable Housing Redevelopments
Howard County Executive Calvin Ball today announced that the County’s Department of Housing and Community Development has secured $5.8 million in Section 108 Loan Guarantee Program funds from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to assist with the redevelopment of two mixed-income housing communities in Columbia, Ranleagh Court and Waverly Winds.
Cedar Acres Stormwater Pond Repair Project Underway
A Howard County construction project to repair the Cedar Acres Stormwater Pond located between 8325 and 8328 Granville Road in Jessup, has begun. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late March 2025.
Twin Rivers Road Paving Project to Begin
A Howard County project to repave westbound Twin Rivers Road at Governor Warfield Parkway in Columbia, is expected to begin on or about Monday, November 11th. While the work is being done on the 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., westbound Twin Rivers Road will be closed to all traffic. Weather permitting, the project is expected to take one day to complete.

A Howard County emergency repair project to replace the culvert on Folly Quarter Road over the tributary to Benson Branch, between Buckskin Lake Drive and Walt Ann Drive in Ellicott City, is expected to begin on or about Monday, December 2nd. While the work is being done, this section of Folly Quarter Road will be closed to all traffic, with traffic following a clear marked detour. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by mid- to late-December.
