2024-2029 Howard County Hazard Mitigation Plan
This page is dedicated to the 2024-2029 Howard County Hazard Mitigation Plan (NHMP) maintenance process. The NHMP is reviewed annually and thoroughly updated every five years. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) also rigorously reviews the NHMP every five years after the update. The goal of this page is to provide access to the NHMP for the public, gather public input, and keep the public updated on any changes. This NHMP was approved by County Council on November 6, 2023, and it will expire on November 5, 2028.
Landlord & Tenant Section
One of the duties of the Sheriff is to provide enforcement for court ordered assistance to property owners. Evictions are an unfortunate but necessary part of that duty. The Landlord/Tenant Section is responsible for the service of all related summonses and notices regarding the eviction process. This unit works in accordance with the District Court of Maryland.
