ADA Coordination
The Office of ADA Coordination provides technical assistance to the public and County Government departments to ensure that County Government’s disability-related policies, procedures and practices are implemented in conformance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other disability rights laws. The Office also provides informal guidance to the public in disability rights matters involving non-public entities.

Public Garden Focus Group
The Public Gardens Focus Group was established via Executive Order 2024-06 and is charged with making recommendations towards a preliminary concept plan with desired garden features, site elements and gathering spaces.

Transportation
The Office of Transportation’s primary focus is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of public transportation services, walking, and bicycling in and around Howard County and ensure that connectivity is front and center in land use planning and site development.
Agriculture
The Howard County Office of Agriculture is dedicated to preserving Agriculture in Howard County as a viable industry. The Office provides the agricultural industry with business support, technical assistance, promotion and acts as a liaison between farms and other county agencies.
Capitoline Center
This center is a 46,000-square-foot, silver LEED-certified community center that includes a swimming pool, splash pad, basketball and volleyball courts, classrooms, fitness and exercise rooms with cardio and PRECOR strength training equipment, a climbing wall and more .

The Inspector General Advisory Board consists of seven citizen members who are tasked with selecting the Inspector General, and providing advisory and ministerial oversight on the activities of the Office of the Inspector General.

Recreation & Parks
The Department strives to deliver recreation and leisure opportunities that improve the health and well-being of the community and serve as model stewards of the environment by managing, protecting, and conserving our resources for a sustainable future. The Department maintains 9,768 acres of public lands and over 50 parks. It offers approximately 7,000 recreation programs (including leagues, classes and camps) each year.
Howard County Planning Group to Plan America's 250th Anniversary
Howard County Executive Calvin Ball signed an Executive Order establishing a Howard County planning group to organize a celebration in honor of the U.S.’s 250th anniversary in July 2026.
